Dogs Needing Foster Homes
All dogs listed here have been vetted and/or quarantined (if age appropriate) and need a stable, loving foster home to provide them love and care until they are adopted. Some are still in the shelter and have not been transported yet, some are in boarding, and some are already with a foster but need to be moved for whatever reason.
When fostering a dog for us, the foster parent is responsible for food, treats, over the counter meds, etc. We are responsible for all medical care. Any potential adopters must go through our process, and fill out our adoption application and contract. You, as foster parent, are basically responsible for caring for the dog until a forever home can be found. The fostering time period depends on the dog, some dogs require a foster for a few days, and other require a few months. Please be prepared for either, if you wish to foster. You will be responsible for getting the dog to and from transport and vet visits.
If you see a dog on this page that you would like to foster, please check out our ADOPT ~ SPONSOR ~ FOSTER page, and read the writeup on fostering. If you're still interested, please fill out the foster application located there, and also send us an email to fostering@helpsaveone.org, letting us know that you have filled out an application, and which dog you are looking to foster.
All dogs on this page are completely ready to go, and are listed on the appropriate pages for adoption as well.
Foster homes are needed anywhere from South Carolina to Maine. Sorry, we can't have foster homes in Massachusetts.

Ella Mae - Mini Pin mix - Female senior
Ella Mae is a Min Pin who is 7 years young! Per her foster mom Ella Mae is a sweet sweet senior who would love a comfy bed to sleep in. She is laid back and would be PERFECT for a quiet home or someone wanting a low maintenance dog. Ella Mae gets along with people and other dogs. Ella Mae deserves a wonderful forever home. Is that you? Ella Mae's adoption fee is $100 and that includes her shots, spay, and transport.
Hayley -Shar Pei mix - Young female
This is Hayley. She
is young, and was very neglected, and will need some work. You have to gain
her trust but once you do she is fine (refer to photo - that is a
volunteer who went and visited Hayley each day at the shelter).
The vet clinic said she is a very sweet dog who was abused by a man. She gets scared around men.

Peaches - Cocker Spaniel Mix - Senior female
Peaches came to us from a high volume kill shelter in South Carolina. Peaches is 9 years old and still have tons of living left to do. When she came to us she was depressed, matted, and not feeling so well. Since that time Peaches has seen the vet and is loving life a lot more now. She also has a brand new hairstyle that is a huge improvement over the matted mess she was.
Peaches is in a foster home where she lives harmoniously with other dogs and cats. It would be nice if Peaches could have a home to call "hers" - a forever home where she can live out her golden years. She is incontinent and needs crating or diapering most of the time.

Penny - Chihuahua - Senior female
This little pip named Penny is so much cuter than her photo. When I met her in person I fell in love. She is a very gentle little Chi and is a beautiful chocolate color. She does have a mangled ear but the vet said it is just cosmetic and does not impact her in anyway. Penny has some fur loss but with good food and diet that should fill in shortly. Penny is a sweet little girl who would LOVE a forever home! Penny is estimated to be between around 7 years old. Penny has chronic ear infections and must have her ears washed 1-2 times a week and ear drops twice a day for the rest of her life. Penny's adoption fee is $100 and that includes her shots, spay, and transport.
Koby - Terrier mix - Adult Male
Koby is a 5year old adorable Yorkie mix who was rescued from a high kill shelter. He is very friendly, weighs 17 pounds, and is a male. He came to us with a hurt back leg but we are taking care of that. Koby would love a forever home and would make a great addition to any family. Koby's adoption fee is $250 and that includes his vetting, neuter, and transport.

Bertha - Adult Female - Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix
WANTED: STRONG
MINDED, LOVING, PATIENT ADOPTER!
If this is you please read below:
I come from a kill shelter in TN. I am a mix of Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and possibly something else. Everyone has judged me before they ever met me. I have breed prejudices working against me. Many people have giving up on me way to easily. I hear this all the time; "too much work", "too big", "too rough", "too vicious”, “too pit bull looking", the list goes on and on. That is just like me saying "your fat", "your skinny", "you smell", "you dress weird", "your ugly", EXACTLY. You know I was adopted out twice by people who swore they understood my breed and then promptly returned me. Rejected twice is a horribly feeling.
My foster has to keep me separated from the most of the dogs at her home. There is one other dog that I am able to hang out with. Duke...he is my only buddy. My foster mom says I get along with dogs who LOVE PLAYING RIGHT IN MY FACE, same as me. Here is a list of friends I had who all have been ADOPTED. Some of you may remember them. ABBIE, JASON, SALSA, JUNIOR, DUKE, BUGS, LALA, ANNIE, FREDWARD, ANDY, and JAKE. I deserve a home just like them to call my own.
I am roughly 75 lbs. Full of energy and I love to go for walks and rides in the car. I LOVE MY BELLY RUBBED. If I get to excited and won't calm down, all you have to do is rub my belly, and I am all yours.
I need an owner who is going to give me the discipline I need. Exercise is a very good way to release my energy. I will eventually settle down once I have a good routine. I will be best as your only dog. ******If you have prior knowledge, and experience of dogs like me and are WILLING TO WORK WITH ME, then I would be okay with another dog.
Of all the dogs in Help Save One, Big Bertha tugs at my heart the most. I think the reason for this is because she has still not found her niche, her forever home, and "her place" in this world.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering Bertha please contact us for an application and a meet and greet.
