Justina - Baby Female - Special Needs, Deformed Front Legs
August 13: What a joy Justina is as a young kitty. She loves to beat up Sugar my foster dog. She is just like any other kitty just with short front legs. Justina is a love. She will stay for hours on your lap and just eats up all the attention.
Update: Justina is no longer a black kitty. As she grows she is becoming a gray striped with some black areas. Very beautiful looking kitty. Not ready for adoption yet.
Tina Rex is now Justina. She went to the vet yesterday and was a hit with the office staff and everyone in the waiting room. She is a healthy baby girl with no issues. It is only deformity of the bones. She can concentrate now on having fun and growing up strong and beautiful.
Here is Tina Rex - the little kitten who had the deformed legs everyone was worried about. Well she is safe and as snug as a bug in a rug in her new foster home. One of our members took in Tina Rex and will work with her vet to address any medical concerns there are for Tina.
Tina is a happy kitten who purrs up a storm as soon as you start petting her.
Updates will be posted on her regularly so please check back. Feel free to email us about Justina as well at info@helpsaveone.org.
Mittens - Baby Female
Mittens is a very special kitty. When she was just 4 weeks old, she lost her mommy, arrived at a shelter, was brought to her foster home, and somewhere along the way acquired a nasty upper respiratory infection. The vet thought we were going to lose her for a week or so there, and also thought that if she did survive, she would be blind in both eyes. Somehow, against the odds, she not only made it, but has full vision in both eyes!
She does, however, have a condition called Feline viral rhinotracheitis, resulting from her upper respiratory infection. Basically, FVR is a condition which results in sneezing, nasal discharge, and ocular discharge. In other words, she sneezes a lot and has one runny eye on occasion. Nothing can be done at this point, the vets have told us antibiotics will not help. It doesn't bother her at ALL, she is still a perfectly happy, loving kitten. As long as you don't mind having an adoring kitten who sneezes a lot and sometimes has gook in her eye, the FVR is no reason to turn away from her.
FVR can be transmitted to other cats, HOWEVER, if your cat is current on all its vaccines and has a healthy immune system, they should be protected and will not get FVR. This diagnosis does not mean that Mittens has to be an only cat, it just means that any cats she comes into contact with MUST have their full vaccines, and be kept up to date (which should be done anyway!).
Our VP has a cat with FVR who lives very happily with her other adult cats. It has not been transmitted to the other cats, since they are all up to date.
I really hope someone will give Mittens a chance. She is just the sweetest most adorable kitten anyone could ask for. She loves everyone and wants to cuddle all the time, she is just amazing!
Mittens has also bonded to Nikki, the black male kitten listen below. Nikki also has FVR, so the two would do very well if adopted together.
She is a total sweetheart, and loves to be around people. She will climb your legs to get into your arms, and loves to lay like a baby and be cuddled. She is an explorer, and a wonderful little girl that loves everyone, dogs, cats, and kids included. She is now around 11 weeks old, and is still very small.
Adoption fee is $75.00 and includes all vetting, as well as a spay/neuter deposit of $25.00 which will be returned with proof of spay.
Nikki and Mittens Snoozing!
Nikki - Baby Male
Nikki is very small. He wants to be with people all the time. He will climb up you and sit on your shoulder.
He has stayed very small so you must have the ability to watch this little one in your household for dangers that may confront him at the small size he is. There are no promises he will stay small but he is small for his age right now.
Nikki, like Mittens, had an upper respiratory infection when he was very young. He also has FVR. Spice - Adult Female
Spice is a very sweet cat. She is sweet and affectionate to both adults and kids. She is 2 years old, and is also mellow. She loves to sit in the window and watch nature. Spice can be really affectionate, but is sometimes standoffish. She is fine with one of her foster mom’s dogs, and the other one and her kind of somewhat peacefully co-exist. She is not a huge fan of other cats.
She definitely likes to sleep on your bed with you and purrs a lot and gives kitty massages. She will follow you everywhere you go, and is very human co-dependent.
Her foster mom also wanted to say this: “She also believes it's her mission in life to hunt loose socks. It's the funniest thing. I'll come home and they'll be three socks in the hallway. If you're home she'll find them and bring them to you and meow very loudly and she's very proud of herself.”
Adoption donation is $50. This includes all shots, fecal test, dewormed, all tests, frontline and health certificate. A refundable $25 spay deposit is required. A spay/neuter contract will be required, and when we are shown proof of spay you will be refunded $25.
Snickers - Young Female
Snickers, also affectionately known as Spaz, is a little more shy. She loves the company of other cats and is very timid with people especially children. I think she would be best suited in a home with other cats who need a friend. Also a more quiet home may make her more affectionate toward people. She is just letting us pat her now, but only when the house is quiet. She is the kitten on the right and is about 10-12 months old.
Adoption donation is $50.00. A refundable $25 spay deposit is required. This includes all shots, fecal test, dewormed, frontline and health certificate. A spay/neuter contract will be required, and when we are shown proof of spay you will be refunded $25.
Sophia - Baby Female - Special Needs, Heart Murmur
Sophia has a low grade heart murmur, but is still a wonderful, playing, loving kitten! A little about her, she loves dogs, cats and kids. She is just a rambuncious little playful girl.
Adoption fee is $50.00 and includes all vetting, as well as a spay/neuter deposit of $25.00 which will be returned with proof of spay.
Hunter - Baby Female
Hunter is very nosy and is busy all the time. She loves to "hunt" her toys and fellow kittens. She has stayed very small so you must have the ability to watch this little one in your household for dangers that may confront her at the small size she is. There are no promises she will stay small but she is small for her age right now.
Hunter needs medicine for an infected eye for the next few weeks but the foster home will give you the medicine at the time of adoption.
Adoption fee is $75.00 and includes all vetting, as well as a spay/neuter deposit of $25.00 which will be returned with proof of spay.
Chan - Baby Male
Chan is into everything or nothing. He is always watching everything that is going on around him. He is one of the calmer kittens in the group.
Adoption fee is $75.00 and includes all vetting, as well as a spay/neuter deposit of $25.00 which will be returned with proof of neuter.
Whiskers - Baby Male
Whiskers loves to view the world from a bed. He loves to just hang out in the litter box. He has stayed very small so you must have the ability to watch this little one in your household for dangers that may confront him at the small size he is. There are no promises he will stay small but he is small for his age right now.
