Help Save One, Inc is a dog rescue but we do have the ability to rescue cats. Please see below for sponsorship/adoption/and fostering protocol.
Protocol on Rescuing a Cat/Kitten

LAST DAY 3/10/10
The cats and kittens below are in shelters that use gassing as a form of euthanasia. We find this inhumane and unacceptable. Help Save One does its best to rescue companion animals from this fate.
Since we are predominantly a dog rescue we need cats rescues to help form a network with us to help these cats and kittens.
We can save these kids with your help. This is our protocol on cat rescue.
**IMPORTANT** - if you want to pull a cat I only use ONE person to pull for Help Save One and she does not pull feral cats. While we FULLY believe feral cats have right and should not be gassed our vet clinic can only handle so many at a time. For right now the focus needs to be on cats that were left behind by their owners and can be integrated into a family. We do not want to leave family pets behind. WE NED A FERAL CAT SOLUTION! Any ideas please please contact us at info@helpsaveone.org.
1. The kittens/cats listed below have been deemed unadoptable by the shelter (generally it is because they are shy). This means they are available to rescues only. It does not cost anything to pull them. When a cat/kitten is pulled from the shelter it MUST immediately go to a vet and board there for several days for quarantine. A full exam, shots, FelLeuk/Hiv, frontline, deworming, and altering is all mandatory as well.
In order to pay for the above we need sponsorship for the cats. Just a week of boarding costs $140 and the rest of the shots, altering, and testing runs about another $150. In return we only ask for a $125 adoption fee for both cats and kittens. You can see where we would need help with sponsoring.
2. After leaving the vet the cats/kittens need a place to go so please consider opening your home as a foster. Also consider adoption or helping find homes for these precious felines. If you are interested in adopting or fostering a cat or kittens please send an email to marissa@helpsaveone.org or info@helpsaveone.org.
Below is a fund called "The Urgent Cat" fund. All sponsorship dollars for cats should be there. It works the same exact way for cats as it does for dogs. We will pull as many as we can financially afford and have fosters for.
All the cats and kittens below have a euthanasia date of 3/8/10 & 3/9/10.
UPDATE ON TRACKER - PLEASE READ!
For the first week of March we raised $4035 and after paypal fees it was $3913. We brought 9 cats to the vet and the invoice for their vetting was $1400 which included 3 days of boarding, shots, combo test, deworming, sedation for some to do the bloodwork, flea and tick prevention, and did NOT include altering. The invoice for altering will be approximately $1350 give or take a few dollars. Please contact me if you like to see the invoices as I am happy to show them to anyone. This totals $2750 in expenses so far. Each cat will cost $50 to transport this weekend and will incur 4 more days of boarding so we are looking at another $900 between transport and additional boarding (they NEED the additional boarding time to recover from surgery and monitoring). So totals so far is around $3700 so we will still have $220 left for this weeks pull and I have started off this weeks tracker with that amount.
Please keep in mind these cats most likely never received a day of vetting in their life and some were living outside. It takes alot to get them healthy. The vet we are using is costly but they accept/handle feral cats and that is a huge plus.
